What is the difference between DVD, Blu-ray, CD and digital downloads?

DVD and Blu-ray products contain video recordings.

Blu-ray discs generally offer higher picture quality when the source material allows it.

CD products contain audio recordings only.

Digital downloads are delivered electronically and do not require shipping, but comes with a delivery fee.

Please note that the quality of historical recordings varies depending on the original source material and the age of the programme.

The Pre-Owned and Official Releases sections contain original products that may be new or previously owned. Product descriptions will indicate this where relevant.

Are these official releases?

Most products offered by Eurovision-DVD.com are fan-produced collector editions created to help preserve and share Eurovision history.

Official products are listed separately in the Official Releases section.

What languages are used on the products?

The webshop is presented in English.

Programme content is presented in its original language or languages, depending on the country and broadcast.

Songs are naturally performed in their original languages.

Why are some recordings not available on YouTube or streaming services?

Many Eurovision-related programmes, national finals, television specials and historical recordings have never been officially released online. Others may disappear due to copyright claims, licensing changes or the removal of channels and accounts.

While YouTube and streaming services are excellent tools for discovering music and performances, they should not be viewed as permanent archives. Content that is available today may not necessarily be available tomorrow.

For many Eurovision fans and collectors, preserving recordings is about safeguarding an important part of television and music history. Eurovision-DVD.com was created to help keep those memories and performances available for future generations of fans.

Help Preserve Eurovision History

We are always looking for new contacts who can help us preserve and expand our Eurovision archive.

We are particularly interested in original broadcast recordings, high quality digital transfers and improved versions of existing recordings.

Whenever possible, we prefer recordings sourced directly from original broadcasts or master-quality recordings. Material obtained from YouTube or other online video platforms is generally not required.

We are especially interested in:

  • National finals from all participating countries
  • International Eurovision broadcasts from national broadcasters
  • Improved quality recordings from the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s
  • Rare television specials and Eurovision-related programmes
  • High quality recordings of historical UK and Maltese national finals

If you have material that may be of interest, please contact us at eurovisiondvdcom@gmail.com.

Please let us know what recordings you have available and whether you would prefer to exchange material, sell recordings or simply contribute to preserving Eurovision history.

We look forward to hearing from fellow collectors and Eurovision fans around the world.
